How clean mail reaches your existing inbox

A common question on Personal is: 'If MxGuard receives my mail, where does it actually end up?' The answer is that MxGuard is a gateway, not a mailbox — it filters and then forwards.

The flow: 1. Your MX records point at mx1.mxguard.uk and mx2.mxguard.uk, so incoming mail arrives at MxGuard first. 2. MxGuard scores each message and decides pass, tag, quarantine or reject. 3. Clean (and tagged) mail is forwarded on to your backend mail server — the real inbox you configured, whether that's a mailbox at your hosting provider, your ISP, or your own server.

You keep reading your mail exactly where you always have; MxGuard simply sits in front. Set your forwarding destination when you add the domain, and make sure that server still accepts mail from MxGuard. ARC sealing preserves authentication across this forwarding hop so your mail still passes SPF/DMARC checks at the destination.
