Sender reputation and the 7-day rolling cache

Beyond the content of any single message, MxGuard tracks how a sender has behaved recently. This reputation signal is one of the roughly 120 features feeding the classifier.

Rolling 7-day ratio. For each sender domain, MxGuard maintains a rolling ham/spam ratio over the last seven days, held in the Redis cache. A domain that has been sending you clean, wanted mail all week starts from a position of trust; one that has been sending junk is scored more harshly.

Ham discount for marked senders. When you mark a sender as legitimate, that sender receives a 30-day ham discount, further reducing the chance their mail is caught.

Recipient interaction history. The model also considers whether you have interacted with this sender before.

Because reputation is per-sender and time-windowed, a previously trusted correspondent whose account is later compromised will see their trust erode as the bad mail accumulates — the filter adapts rather than trusting forever.
