Setting up shared addresses like info@ and sales@
Most businesses want a few shared, role-based addresses — info@, sales@, accounts@, support@ — alongside individual mailboxes. With 25 mailboxes to allocate and a managed service, these are easy to set up.
Decide how each one should behave. There are two common patterns:
- A shared mailbox — one mailbox that several people log into (or connect to on their devices) to read and reply. Good for a genuine shared queue like support@ where the team works from a common inbox.
- Forwarding to individuals — mail to the role address is delivered on to one or more named people. Good for an address like accounts@ that really just needs to reach a specific person.
Tell us what you want. Send us the role addresses you'd like, and for each one whether it should be a shared mailbox or forward to named people (and to whom). We set it up on your domain with the correct filtering and authentication.
A tip: keep role addresses consistent and obvious — customers guess info@ and sales@, so the more standard your naming, the more mail reaches you first time.
