The rules engine: allow and block patterns at four scopes

Alongside the machine-learning score, Veritus gives you a deterministic rules engine for the cases you want to control by hand.

Rules can allow or block based on patterns — an email domain, a CIDR IP range (for example 3.0.0.0/8), a country, a reason code and more. Crucially, each rule can be set at one of four scopes:

• Global — applies across your whole account
• Account — a customer/sub-account level
• Domain — one of your websites
• Form — a single form

This lets you, say, block a spammy email domain everywhere while allowing a corporate VPN range on just one internal signup form. Rules can override the model's score, so they are the right tool for known-good partners and known-bad actors.
