Test mode versus live mode keys

Every Veritus account has two kinds of API key, distinguished by their prefix:

• Live keys (vt_live_…) score real traffic and count toward your monthly quota.
• Test keys (vt_test_…) behave identically but their requests do not count toward your quota.

Test requests are marked mode: test in the dashboard so you can keep them separate from production traffic. Use test keys to build and verify your integration, exercise every verdict path, and check your block-message wording before you switch a form to a live key. There is no charge and no quota impact for testing.
