Ring Groups and Call Queues Behind Your DID
When several people need to answer the same number, a DID can feed a ring group or a call queue.
A ring group rings a set of extensions together (or in sequence) so the first available person picks up — perfect for a small sales or support team where anyone can help.
A call queue holds callers in line with music on hold and connects them to agents as they free up. Queues can have fixed members, or let agents log in and out dynamically as shifts change. You can play custom recordings while people wait and set how long they hold before overflowing to voicemail or another destination.
Both are configured in your FreeVoIP account and sit behind your DID, turning a single inbound number into a proper team answering setup.
