Latency computation on the login screen
When you log in to run the engine, it displays a latency computation right on the login screen.
Latency — the round-trip delay between your server and the registry — is decisive in dropcatching, because your create commands must arrive at exactly the right instant. Seeing the current figure at login tells you the conditions you are working against before you commit to a drop.
It is a small feature with real value: if your latency is unusually high on a given day, you know to adjust your timing (or investigate your network path) rather than firing blind. Read alongside the seven chronological result points, it helps you continually tune when you send EPP creates.
