Dropcatching Legacy Engine - One Time Product information New

Built for time-release, still compatible with older DAC/EPP

Nominet introduced its time-release drop process in September 2022, and the current engine is a complete rewrite for it. But the rewrite did not abandon the past — the software remains compatible with the older DAC/EPP method too.

That dual compatibility matters if you catch across registries or want a single engine that handles both the modern time-release drops and legacy-style drops. You are not forced to keep two tools around.

Under the hood the modern engine runs multiple non-blocking EPP sockets and uses a proprietary algorithm that streams EPP writes in blocks for tighter timing — the machinery behind its performance on contested time-release drops.
