Post-check registration: catching a name after the slot

One of the engine's standout features is post-check registration. Dropcatching is a matter of firing EPP creates at exactly the right instant, but timing is not always perfect — sometimes the precise catch window is missed even though the domain does become available.

Post-check registration handles exactly that case. If the catch timing missed the slot but the name has genuinely dropped and is now registrable, the engine can still go on to register it. Rather than walking away from a name you narrowly missed on timing, you get a second route to secure it.

It is a pragmatic feature: not every drop is won on the millisecond, and post-check registration means a near-miss on timing does not automatically become a lost domain.
