Bring the Transcom engine or run your own software
The VPS is a purpose-built catching node, and it is ready to run either the Transcom engine or software of your own.
For the Transcom engine, the box is prepared with the environment it expects — PHP 7.4 and the server clock set to UTC/Zulu time (all Nominet drop times are in Zulu). That means you can deploy the engine without first reconfiguring the platform.
If you run your own dropcatch software, the VPS is equally suitable — you are getting a fast, low-latency, well-positioned server and can install whatever catching stack you prefer. The value is the location and specification, not a locked-down platform.
Either way, you can pair the VPS with the Front End Dashboard to control catches remotely.
