How do I transfer a caught domain to my own Nominet TAG?

A domain you catch initially sits on Transcom's TAG. You have two options:

• Leave it where it is — Transcom holds it on its TAG and renews at current rates, which is the simplest choice if you don't run your own registrar account.
• Transfer it out — if you are a Nominet TAG holder (or use one), you can move the domain to your own TAG and manage renewals directly with Nominet.

Transferring out is the right choice if you want the name under your own registrar identity or a preferential renewal rate. If you would rather catch under your own TAG from the outset and settle with Nominet directly, look at the leased or owned engine options instead of Free Access.
