Which UK domain extensions Free Access can catch

Free Access catches expiring domains in the Nominet namespace — the UK's national registry. That means the following extensions are eligible:

• .uk — the short second-level namespace
• .co.uk — the long-established commercial namespace and by far the most contested
• .org.uk — commonly used by organisations, clubs and communities
• .me.uk — personal and small-project names

All four are governed by Nominet's expiry and drop process, which is why they can be monitored and caught through the same engine. Domains outside the Nominet namespace (for example .com or .net) are not part of Free Access catching — although the integrated live auction facility does accept submissions and bids on domains of any TLD.

If you submit something that isn't an expiring Nominet name, the system simply filters it out at submission rather than accepting it into the catch queue.
