What does the preferential registrar rate mean for my costs?
When you catch under TAG Owner Access, each caught name is settled directly with Nominet at the preferential registrar rate — Nominet's wholesale registrar pricing, not a retail or per-catch mark-up.
So your cost per caught domain is essentially:
- The £89/month lease for the catching engine, plus
- Nominet's registrar rate for each name you actually register.
There is no per-catch fee to Transcom on top. This keeps your marginal cost per name low, which is what makes a leased-TAG operation economical if you catch with any regularity. The more names you catch in a month, the more the fixed monthly lease is spread across them.
