Setting SmartDNS on iPhone, iPad and Android

iOS (iPhone/iPad): 1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and tap the ⓘ next to your network. 2. Scroll to DNS, tap Configure DNS and switch to Manual. 3. Tap Add Server and enter your primary address. 4. Tap Add Server again for the secondary address. 5. Remove any existing servers and tap Save.

Note: on iOS this applies per Wi-Fi network only, so repeat it for each network — or set SmartDNS on your router instead.

Android: 1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. 2. Long-press your connected network and choose Modify Network. 3. Tap Advanced Options and change IP settings from DHCP to Static. 4. Enter your primary address in DNS 1 and secondary in DNS 2. 5. Tap Save.

For Android that also works on mobile data, see the separate article on the Private DNS method.
