Setting SmartDNS on macOS

priya_n 19 Oct 2025, 20:19

To configure SmartDNS on a Mac:

  1. Open the Apple menu and choose System Settings.
  2. Click Network in the sidebar, select your active connection, then click Details.
  3. Open the DNS tab.
  4. Click the + button and add your primary SmartDNS address.
  5. Click + again and add your secondary address.
  6. Click OK, then Apply.

Tip: DNS settings are per-connection on macOS, so if you switch between Wi-Fi and Ethernet you should configure both. Your primary and secondary addresses are the ones supplied when you subscribed.
