Switching your apparent location between countries

With SmartDNS you are not locked to a single country. The same subscription lets you appear to be in the UK, the US, Germany, Japan, Australia, France and more. Because SmartDNS works by intercepting DNS lookups for geo-sensitive domains, the region a given service unlocks depends on the service itself — when you open BBC iPlayer it routes through the UK, when you open Hulu it routes through the US, and so on, automatically.

There is nothing to toggle for most services: the routing is chosen per-domain behind the scenes, so you can watch a UK broadcaster and a US broadcaster on the same device without changing any settings. This is very different from a VPN, where you must manually pick and connect to one country's server at a time and everything then runs through that single location.
