Why a read confirmation might never appear

You may see a certified email marked delivered and confirmed but never reach the opened stage. That is normal and does not mean the email wasn't read.

The read confirmation relies on a small tracking signal that fires when the recipient opens your message. Many email clients and privacy settings block that signal — for example, by not loading remote content by default. When that happens, the recipient can read your message perfectly well while MailProof never receives an 'opened' event.

What this means for you:

• The delivery record is the proof, not the open. Once a message shows as delivered and confirmed, the recipient's mail server has accepted it — that is the record that stands up.
• A missing open is not evidence of non-receipt. MailProof is explicit that the absence of a read event does not mean the email was not read.
• Don't wait on an open for time-sensitive matters. Treat delivery as the milestone that counts.

If you do get an 'opened' event, that's a helpful extra confirmation — but your certificate does its job on delivery alone.
