Protecting your phone on mobile data, not just Wi-Fi

Per-network DNS settings on phones only cover Wi-Fi — when you leave the house and switch to mobile data, your device falls back to your carrier's DNS and loses Deep Packet Filter (DPF) protection. Here's how to stay covered everywhere.

Android — use Private DNS: go to Settings → Network & Internet → Private DNS and enter the hostname provided with your subscription. This applies system-wide, including over mobile data, so protection follows you off Wi-Fi.

iPhone/iPad: the built-in manual DNS setting applies to Wi-Fi networks only; on mobile data iOS uses the carrier's DNS. For consistent coverage, protect the networks you control (home and office routers) so every device is filtered whenever it's on them.
