A website or app stopped working after enabling DPF — what should I do?
Deep Packet Filter (DPF) blocks unwanted domains, and occasionally a site or app relies on a domain that gets filtered. Here's how to sort it out.
First, confirm DPF is the cause: temporarily switch the affected device's DNS back to automatic (see our revert guide). If the site or app then works, DPF was blocking something it needs.
The fix — white-listing: rather than turning DPF off, add the required domain to your white-list using the admin tools. White-listed domains are always allowed to resolve, so the site or app works while everything else stays protected. Our guide to managing white-lists, black-lists and user blocking covers how.
Other things to check:
- Make sure you entered your DNS addresses correctly.
- Clear the device's DNS cache by reconnecting to the network or restarting.
