Setting up Deep Packet Filter on a Smart TV

Most Smart TVs (Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense and others) let you set DNS manually. Here's the general process — exact menus vary by brand.

1. Go to Settings → Network → Network Status (or Settings → General → Network).
2. Select IP Settings or DNS Settings.
3. Change DNS from Auto/Automatic to Manual.
4. Enter your primary DPF DNS address (and the secondary if there's a field for it).
5. Save, then run the network test from the TV's settings to confirm it connects.

If your TV won't let you set DNS manually: configure Deep Packet Filter on your router instead. The TV will then pick up the DPF DNS automatically, along with every other device on the network — and you'll get in-app and smart-TV ad blocking without touching the TV's settings at all.
