Setting up Deep Packet Filter on macOS

Here's how to configure your Mac to use Deep Packet Filter (DPF). Have your primary and secondary DNS addresses from your access ticket email to hand.

1. Open the Apple menu and choose System Settings (or System Preferences on older versions).
2. Go to Network in the sidebar, select your active connection, and click Details.
3. Open the DNS tab.
4. Click the + button and enter your primary DPF DNS address.
5. Click + again and enter your secondary DNS address.
6. Click OK, then Apply.

Protection is active straight away.

Caveat: if you switch between Wi-Fi and Ethernet, repeat these steps for each connection, as macOS keeps DNS settings per network service. To cover every device with one change, configure your router instead. Our 24/7 UK support team is happy to help if you get stuck.
