Setting up MxGuard Smarthost in three steps

Configuration takes about five minutes:

1. Enable outbound relay for the domain in the dashboard and pick your auth mode (SMTP authentication or IP allowlist).
2. Point your mail server's smarthost / relayhost / "send-via host" setting at smtp.mxguard.uk:587 with the generated credentials (or from your allowlisted IP).
3. Done — outbound mail flows through MxGuard immediately and is logged in your dashboard.

Add our SPF include. When you enable smarthost we give you the exact SPF include to authorise our sending IPs for your domain: add include:_spf.mxguard.uk to your domain's SPF record. This keeps SPF aligned so receivers accept the relayed mail.

After setup, your mail server sends exactly as it always has — MxGuard just sits transparently in the middle.
