Getting started: pointing your MX record at MxGuard
Going live with MxGuard takes only a few steps, and most customers are up and running within a working day.
- Add your domain in the MxGuard console and tell us where your real mail server is (the destination MxGuard should forward clean mail to).
- Test in parallel — you can send test traffic through MxGuard and watch it on the live feed dashboard before you commit any live mail.
- Update your MX record at your DNS provider to point at the MxGuard gateways (mx1 and mx2). Because MxGuard is active-active, both gateways should be listed.
- Watch the live feed as real mail begins flowing. Mail is scored, sorted and forwarded on to your server automatically.
Allow a little time for your old MX record's TTL to expire so all senders switch across. Domain management is fully self-service — no support ticket is required to add or cut over a domain.
