Widget or API — which integration should I use?

Veritus offers two integration methods, and a common question is which to choose.

Use the drop-in widget if:

• You want the fastest possible setup with no backend changes.
• Your signup is a standard HTML form.
• You're happy for the widget to intercept the submit and enforce the verdict in the browser.

Use the REST API if:

• You want to score signups from your own server and decide what to do with the verdict in your code.
• Your registration flow isn't a simple form post (for example a single-page app or a mobile backend).
• You need the full JSON response — score, verdict, reasons, advice, user message, latency and check ID.

You can also use both: the widget for the front end and the API where you need programmatic control. Neither requires an SDK.
