Setting SmartDNS on your home router or TV

You can configure SmartDNS on a router to cover your whole network, or directly on a Smart TV or streaming box.

On your router (covers all devices):

1. Log in to your router's admin page (usually via a web address printed on the router).
2. Find the DNS settings — often under Internet, WAN or DHCP settings.
3. Enter your two SmartDNS addresses as the primary and secondary DNS.
4. Save and reboot the router. Every device that connects through it is now covered, with no per-device setup.

On a Smart TV or streaming box (Samsung, LG, Sony, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, PlayStation, Xbox):

1. Open the network or Wi-Fi settings.
2. Choose to configure the connection manually or edit DNS.
3. Enter your two SmartDNS addresses.
4. Save and, if needed, restart the device.

If your device won't let you set custom DNS, configuring it on your router is the easiest way to cover it.
