Troubleshooting: my details are still showing in WHOIS

If your personal data is still visible after enabling privacy:

1. Confirm the toggle is actually on and saved in the panel — reopen the domain and check.
2. Check the TLD is eligible — some ccTLDs mandate publication of certain fields and privacy can't hide them.
3. Allow for propagation and caching — registry WHOIS is cached; recheck after a few hours to a day.
4. Look at which field is showing — for .uk, the registrant name may still appear even with the address withheld; that's Nominet policy, not a fault.
5. Business vs individual — Nominet withholds addresses for individuals not trading; if the name is registered to a business, the address is generally published.
