Turning WHOIS Privacy off (and when you might need to)

PaulBecker 20 Nov 2025, 01:30

You can disable privacy at any time from Domains → [your name] → WHOIS Privacy. Toggle it off and save; the registry updates the public record accordingly.

When might you need to? A few situations call for public details: - Some transfers to another registrar go more smoothly with privacy temporarily off, as the losing/gaining registrars verify the registrant. - Verification or trust requirements — occasionally a third party (a payment provider, an advertiser) wants to confirm domain ownership via WHOIS. - Business listing — a company may actively want its details public.

Remember that turning privacy off republishes your contact data. Turn it back on once the temporary need has passed.
