Which TLDs are eligible for WHOIS Privacy

Privacy availability depends on the registry's rules for each extension. In general:

• .com, .net, .org and most gTLDs — support a privacy/proxy service, and individuals' data is already redacted by default under GDPR.
• .uk / .co.uk (Nominet) — individuals who are not using the domain for business can opt to have their address withheld from the public WHOIS under Nominet's own rules. The registrant name and other fields follow Nominet policy.
• Some ccTLDs and specialist TLDs — have their own policies; a few mandate publication of certain fields and don't permit privacy at all.

Because of this variation, we describe privacy as available on eligible TLDs. When you register or manage a name in TDesk, the panel shows whether privacy can be enabled for that specific extension. We never charge extra for it where it's offered — it's included free.
