For-sale pages vs holding pages: which to choose

For-sale pages are for names you'd part with at the right price. They display the domain prominently, a short 'this domain may be for sale' message, and a way for an interested visitor to make contact or an offer. If you list the name on the Rarenames marketplace, the for-sale page and the marketplace listing work together so a type-in visitor and a marketplace browser both reach the same enquiry route.

Holding pages (also called coming-soon or placeholder pages) are for names you intend to keep and develop. They tell a visitor the name is legitimately owned and active, which helps with brand protection and stops the name looking abandoned while your real site is built.

Rule of thumb: if you'd sell it, use a for-sale page; if you're keeping it, use a holding page. You can switch between the two at any time from the panel.
