Auth code rejected even though I pasted it exactly

Copied the EPP code straight from my old registrar, pasted it into the transfer form, and got 'authInfo invalid'. Tried three times. Turned out the form was trimming a trailing character or the code had a symbol it didn't like. Please don't silently mangle the code field.
