How to transfer a .uk domain (changing the IPS tag)

.uk domains don't use an auth code — they move by tag change.

  1. Contact Transcom support (or check the transfer screen) for our IPS tag — the exact identifier to set.
  2. Log in to your current .uk registrar, or to Nominet's online services directly.
  3. Find the domain and change its registrar tag to Transcom's tag.
  4. That's it — once the tag points to us, the domain appears in your Transcom account, usually within minutes to a few hours.

Because a .uk transfer is just a tag change and not a renewal, you keep your existing expiry date and, for many .uk names, there's no transfer fee. If the domain doesn't appear after a few hours, double-check the tag was set to the correct value and contact support with the domain name.
