FAQ: registration questions we get asked a lot

Do I really own the domain? Yes — it's registered in your name as legal registrant. We never register in our own name.

Can I register for more than one year? Yes, most TLDs allow 1–10 year terms up front, and you can extend any time.

Why is the name I want unavailable? It's either already registered by someone else, or it's a premium name sold via rarenames.co.uk at a market price.

Why does one TLD cost far more than another? Each registry sets its own wholesale price; we pass through live registry pricing, so premium extensions genuinely cost more.

Can I move an existing domain to Transcom? Yes — see the Domain Transfer product. You'll need the auth/EPP code (or, for .uk, to change the IPS tag).

What happens if I forget to renew? You get reminders, then a grace period at normal price, then redemption (with a fee), then the name drops. Turn on auto-renew to avoid all of it.

Can I register a domain without hosting? Absolutely — a domain and its free DNS are independent of any hosting.
