How to turn on WHOIS privacy

WHOIS privacy replaces your personal contact details in the public WHOIS with proxy details, cutting down spam and hiding your home address.

1. Open Domains → your domain.
2. If the TLD is eligible, you'll see a WHOIS Privacy toggle — switch it on.
3. The public record updates to show privacy-protected details instead of yours; your real details stay on file with us and the registry.

Notes:

• Not every TLD supports privacy. Some registries publish limited data anyway, and a few (certain ccTLDs) don't allow proxy contacts.
• For .uk, individuals can use Nominet's free address opt-out instead, keeping your address off the public WHOIS.
• Since GDPR, most registries already redact personal data from public WHOIS by default, but privacy adds a further layer for the fields that remain.
