How certified delivery works

Getting certified delivery with MailProof takes four steps, with no software or plugins to install:

1. Sign up with the email address you want to send from — you are ready in seconds.
2. Compose your message, add any attachments, and send it through the certified relay.
3. MailProof records the full delivery chain and the recipient server's acceptance, complete with timestamps.
4. You receive a PDF certificate — tracking ID, timestamps and full delivery proof — plus a confirmation email with the PDF attached.

The key mechanism is the certified relay. Rather than sending your email directly, MailProof passes it through a relay that captures the complete SMTP handshake with the recipient's mail server, including the moment their server accepts the message. That recorded exchange is what makes the resulting certificate independent evidence rather than just a claim.
