'Opened' status never fires for Outlook recipients

Read confirmation works fine when I send to gmail addresses but every corporate Outlook/Exchange recipient stays stuck on 'confirmed' and never moves to 'opened'. I assume their server strips the tracking pixel. The tracking UI implies opens are guaranteed which is misleading.
