Preparing for your penetration test

A little preparation helps the test run smoothly and protects you while it takes place. Sensible steps before ordering:

• Take a full backup of your website and its data. This is simply good practice before any security work, so you can restore quickly if you ever need to.
• Make sure you have authority to have the site tested — you should own it or have the owner's permission, as the assessment probes the site actively.
• Have your details to hand for the site you want assessed when you place the order.
• Know who will act on the results — whether that is your own developer or you plan to ask us for a remediation quote.

Once you have ordered, we take it from there and return your two reports by email. If you have anything unusual about your setup you think we should know, mention it when you order.
