Security misconfigurations and exposed admin interfaces
Many breaches come not from clever exploits but from something simply left open. A penetration test looks for security misconfigurations and exposed administrative interfaces.
Typical findings in this area include:
- Admin panels and management logins reachable by anyone on the internet.
- Default credentials or settings left in place after setup.
- Directories, files or debug features exposed that should be locked down.
- Server or framework settings that hand an attacker useful information or an easy way in.
These issues are common precisely because they are easy to overlook — nothing is broken, so nothing draws attention. An attacker, though, will find an exposed admin interface within minutes. The tester checks what your site inadvertently exposes, and the report explains what should be restricted or removed.
