Server Security Analysis or Website Penetration Testing — which do you need?

The two services answer different questions, and many server owners benefit from both.

• Server Security Analysis (£245, 7 days) audits the whole Linux server — mail, DNS, FTP, web, control panels, databases and every other provisioned service — for misconfigurations, exposure, outdated software and signs of prior compromise. Choose this when you want assurance about the machine as a whole, or you suspect it may have been broken into.

• Website Penetration Testing (£28) is a manual ethical-hacking assessment of a specific website, probing the application itself for injection, XSS, access-control and logic flaws.

In short: worried about the server? Choose the audit. Worried about a particular site running on it? Choose the penetration test. Concerned about both the platform and the application? The two are complementary — the audit covers the foundations, the pen test covers the site sitting on them.
