How to find the full headers in Gmail

dave173 16 Nov 2025, 20:02

To analyse your email we need the full, original headers, not a copy-and-paste of the visible message. In Gmail on the web:

  1. Open the email in question.
  2. Click the three-dot menu (More) at the top right of the message.
  3. Choose Show original.
  4. On the page that opens, click Download Original to save the complete message as a .eml / .txt file — or use Copy to clipboard.
  5. Send us that downloaded file or pasted text when you order.

Downloading the original is best because it preserves everything exactly as received. Avoid forwarding the message normally from within Gmail, as a plain forward strips the original routing headers and leaves us nothing to trace. If you are unsure, send the downloaded original and we will take it from there.
